About  [Edit]

Buttoncpi Med_ptplogoPathways To Peace [PTP] is an international PeaceBuilding, Educational and Consulting organization.

Mission

The mission of Pathways To Peace is threefold:
-- to expand the comprehension and substantive expression of "PEACE" and PeaceBuilding practices at all levels;

-- to build Cultures of Peace by uniting and enhancing the strengths of existing organizations and programs along eight paths to Peace;

-- to contribute, through consultation and direct participation, to the evolving mission of the United Nations and to citizens` worldwide participation in the International Day of Peace.

The mission of Pathways To Peace is accomplished through its projects and consulting services. Current projects which demonstrate the practical aspects of Peace include: Culture of Peace Initiative, Institute for PeaceBuilding, The Joan Kenley Show, Events with Peace Leaders and PTP Consulting & Mentoring Programme.

What we do

Pathways To Peace works locally and globally to accomplish its mission. One of the ways in which we build Peace is by collaborating with other organizations in various initiatives. Pathways To Peace is also an active participant in conferences at the United Nations, where we speak about the principles and practices of Peacebuilding.

Current projects and services include:

A local / global Peacebuilding initiative granted special status by the United Nations. International Day of Peace (Peace Day), September 21, marks the annual highlight.  See the Culture of Peace Initiative's GROUPS page

  •   PACEM - Pathways Consulting, Educating & Mentoring
PACEM's range of services include: consulting with civil society organizations on Peacebuilding practices, mentoring young people in Peace leadership and working with the United Nations.

  •   Institute for PeaceBuilding (IPB)
IPB works with schools, communities and organizations to offer new ways of resolving conflicts and building long-term conflict prevention.

  •   Events with Peace Leaders
A series of inspirational events where Peace Leaders from different sectors of society talk about their visions of Peace and how to work towards Peace.

  •   "The Joan Kenley Show" Dr. Joan Kenley hosts this inspiring radio show on KQKE 960 AM "The Quake". The show is designed to touch your mind, body, heart and soul.

Peace Wheel

Med_peacewheel The Peace Wheel © is a model for Peacebuilding, developed by Pathways To Peace. It consists of eight pathways that are interconnected and that symbolize different ways that people can help build Peace. These pathways transcend national, ethnic, racial, religious, age, or gender differences; they are common to every society:

  •   Governance/Law/Security
  •   Education/Media
  •   Economics/Business
  •   Health/Relationships
  •   Science/Technology
  •   Religion/Spiritual Teachings
  •   Environment/Habitat
  •   Culture

Rainbow-hued interlocking infinity symbols, aligned to the four directions, circle out and back to the green mother center which is Earth. These infinity symbols, like the exalted feminine eight, include all circles of life and all expressions within their embrace. The protective, mothering spirit of Nature, strong in Law and seemingly eternal in patience, encircles each individual living entity, urging each one along its own evolutionary pathway. "PEACE" is recognized as both an innate state of Being, and a dynamic evolutionary process wherein constructive growth can occur and the children of this and future generations may gain hope for a better world to inherit.

The Peace Wheel © is used (and continuously modified) in diverse ways, such as a working model for international conferences and organizations, Peacebuilding symposia, and for the International Day of Peace.
